On a working stay in the Province of South Kivu, the Minister of State and Minister of infrastructure and Public Works, ALEXIS GISARO MUVUNYI accompanied by the DG of the Roads Office Jeannot KIKANGALA arrived this Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in the Territory of UVIRA south of the city of Bukavu.

On his way, he inspected the work on the construction of the Chihanda Bridge in Nyangezi carried out by the Roads Office.

He also inspected the works carried out by the Chinese company Synohydro 14 on the RN5 BUKAVU – NYANTENDE-KAMANYOLA, 55km long where the first works began with the removal of quagmires, disengagement of embankments, stabilization of the slope and widening of the right-of-way of the road.

From Nyangezi to Uvira, the delegation stopped at several places to soak up the state of the road, the bridges out of phase, since the advent of the torrential rains last April, which had washed away several bridges including that of SANGE and destroyed other works of art in the Ruzizi plain, in particular the KASIRUSIRU and RUNINGU bridges which already pose a danger to road traffic.
